Opera is the most expensive of all art forms, involving all the costs of a theatre production combined with all the costs of a musical production. We control our expenses very carefully and our administration is done on a voluntary basis, so our productions deliver very good value for money. Even so, ticket sales come nowhere near covering costs. We are grateful to all who give us invaluable financial support. We continue to seek more sponsorship and also invite individuals to become Friends of NSO by making an annual donation to support our work.
In return, supporters receive priority news of events, and have opportunities to attend social functions and special events. They also have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping NSO to provide accessible opera locally at a high professional standard and at affordable prices; to further its educational work; to provide invaluable experience for those making their careers in opera and music theatre.
